That’s a good question. I’m hoping that Marty and Troy can help me. Maybe late June?

The previous owner of that Jeep sounds like a guy I know. He bought a new Grand Cherokee, put about 30k miles on it. He left NJ towing a trailer that was way over his tow limit and blew the engine. Oh, gee, I forgot to say he had NEVER changed his oil! Now he trash talks Jeep because Chrysler wouldn't cover it under warranty.

Most vehicles last a very long time if their owners do the maintenance. I go a little overboard on maintenance, but I’d rather be overboard than neglect a very expensive investment. It’s hard to understand why some people neglect maintenance. It’s easy to enjoy a vehicle when you know it’s dependable long after it’s paid off. I don’t make enough money to buy a new vehicle every few years, so for me, it‘s an investment. Our Jeep Liberty and Dodge Ram are our very first new vehicles to own and we plan to keep them forever.

The lift is almost finished. I ordered 4 degree shims to adjust for the pinion angle.

I got a few longer center pins to go through the leaf springs and shim

After 173,000 miles, the stock stabilizer was shot.

We’re in the process of fine tuning everything, but she’s nearly done. I still need to finalize the measurements for the custom driveshaft. I live about 45 miles from the nearest alignment shop, so I’ll have to trailer the XJ in for the final touches. Anyway, here are a few pics of the XJ setting at my buddies shop.
