Ok looking at all the lifts out there for the XJ need some help here. 5" OME vs. the 4.5 Rubicon express super flex? Is the RE just a better kit all together? |

I have RE parts on my XJ and am very happy w/ them. The rear 4.5" leafs work very well and have not sagged. I'm running the RE rear shackles as well. My front setup is RE 3.5" coils w/ a 1.75" spacer and it too works great. I have heard great things about their monotube shocks but never ran them. I did have the old DTT (iirc, that was what they were) shocks but now have Bilstein 5150's which work great on the XJ. Not familair w/ OME XJ lifts but not heard any bad things about OME, so don't know how you can go wrong. I would have to say that overall, RE stuff is about the most popular for XJ's. RE's lifts are also easily upgradable so you could start out cheaper w/ one of their lesser lifts and upgrade over time w/ others take offs or when deals come along. |

Don't forget BDS. They have an awesome long arm set-up. They all so have a no questions asked warranty. You break it they send you a new one. That will be the lift I get when it's time for a different set-up. Parakeet |

Dirk is very experienced in the world of XJ suspension lifts. I would highly recommend looking at his links below. I’m looking to buy a lift as well. Dirk and I have been playing phone tag the past few weeks, but I’m basically going to let him make the recommendation. I’m going to run a bumper/winch in the front and a rear bumper and carrier in the rear, so my main concern is having a resilient suspension that can hold up to the extra weight. Personally, I'm looking at this set up. (with the new spring pac, not the add a leaf) then I have a solid start. The I can spacer the front, and shackle the back to get a little high later down the road. http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3.html |
