My wife has a 99' Limited that seems terribly gutless. Was wondering if ya'll have any suggestions of improving performance and fuel economy?

Thanks!

free flowing intake and exhaust systems obviously helps power. a lot of people change out fuel injectors for dodge neon injectors and o2 sensors for increase in fuel economy.

idk how people think the 4.0l is gutless. my cherokee is on stock 3.55 gears and 33" tires feels like it has more power then my liberty with 4.10s and 32". the only difference is the cherokee shifts all the time on the highway.

I would need more information. Is it lifted? What year is it? What size of tires? I agree with DirtyKK, the 4.0L is far from gutless. Either you have something wrong (plugged catalytic converter) or something electronically/mechanically not right.

Happen to check out a tuner? Looks like some pretty respectable gains. 28 HP @ 4,850 and 33 TQ @ 3,900rpm. I think they are usually around $350 shipped. Check it out!
