Ok so I picked up this 1989 XJ CHEAP. My plans are to wheel & build it on t he cheap. We call this, "Project Turd". The one thing I'm sure I wanna do is run 33"TSL's. So, I'll prolly be lifting it around 4" and doing alotta triming.

This is what it looked like 5min after I got it home.

I have street legal vehicles.....and it been years since I had a trail only 4x4. So I think thats the direction that this project will take. So, we chopped all the doors off. We plan on doing a roll/exo cage to help keep the body together.

Of course we had to take it wheeling without the doors. Kinda suprised me what it will do but the open diffs suck bad!! Prolly gonna be welding the rear diff.

As we end up doing things to & wheeling the Turd, I'll post on this thread for fun. Mods will be a lil slow since I just had to shell out $2,500 to my lawyer for my divorce :furious: :dizzy:

He didnt TAKE the doors off.....She got them in the divorce, Seems they weigh about HALF the total weight of the truck when you include the interior panals..... :-)r

Yeah it really feels alot lighter without them. Crap just carrying the doors away after cutting them off they seemed heavy as hell.

Got the Turd stuck today :-)r We figured it would be a great idea to go out in the field and hit a few soft spots. This soft spot bit back lol. Image
