75w-90 and 75w-140 mentioned above are SYNTHETIC weights

You want 85w-90 or 85w-140 for DINO weights, as recommended by Tommudd and many others.

Different people will have different opinions on the lube locker, but if you have a drain plug on the difs then I would honestly just do RTV to make the gasket/seal at the dif cover. If no drain plug then the decision is up to you on how often you will change your dif fluid and how much of a headache you want each time of cleaning the old RTV off.

I do have a drain plug and I wouldn't expect to be changing it too often and so my choices are a 75w-140 SYNTHETIC which is for towing and offroad use OR a 85w-140 which is straight DINO and then there's a lube locker or performing an RTV whats an RTV? Thanks for the help guys clearly I'm a noobie when it comes to this lol

RTV is a sealer
and again no on the synthetic
One of the guys over here ( BugginKJ) has been running Amsoil synthetic ever since he got the KJ, we changed it out recently to Dino. The low hum he had ever since he bought it went away and hasn't came back

I don't use the lubelocker or RTV
ones a mess, others too expensive
back when we did my gears we glued a stock gasket onto the Crane cover.
Now I just pull the cover off, let it drain out, clean everything and back on it goes.
No leaks, old dragracers trick
of course won't work too well with stock cover due to how cheap and thin they are
