I found a 1991 XJ on craigslist for a great price with considerably low mileage. I'm purchasing it to be a daily driver and plan to lift it just a little bit (2") to help with getting through the occasional snow/ice storms we get in NC...not for crawling. I haven't looked at it in person yet, so I don't know what the exact trim is but I know it has the 4.0L I6 (w/ 4WD) and looking at the pics, seems to be almost all stock yet, with little to no modifications.

Does anyone know what the gear ratio is likely to be? My best guess is 3.55.
The stock tire size (according to Just Tires.com) is 225/75R15, so with a 2" lift I want to determine:
-how big can the tires be ...
-and what the corresponding gear ratio should be (looks like 4.27 might give a little more "oomph")

Thanks!
