I would have put this in the Wrangler section but I didn't want to clutter the section up.

2004 Rubicon w/ hard top. 5-speed with less than 13K miles. The guy is asking $21,000 for it. Is this something that I should look into? I already Kelly Blue Booked it and the value was listed as $18,500...

How would you rate the condition of the jeep? If the 13,000 miles are back and forth to work maybe offer kbb. If the jeep spent the bulk of its short life at the deer lease, look out :D

That's a preety good deal. Rubicons are in preety high demand and don't lose much value. I paid about that for a 2003 earlier this year with about 8000 miles on it, and it is a really solid vehicle. Mine was def. never offroad before I bought it but it had a small about of body work from a fender bender.

Its a private seller. I'll NEVER go to a dealer for a used car...

There was an '05 Rubicon Unlimited here at a chevy dealer (patriot blue, hard top, 6 speed manual, 23k miles) for exactly $21,000. You'd be surprised at what you can find at a dealer. With the hike in gas prices, a lot of mall crawlers panicked and dumped their new rides for little jap cars...

I've got an 05 Rubicon and it's the funnest vehicle I've ever had (save maybe the 350z I sold when I bought the Rubicon). I paid $21k for mine with 9k milles from a Mercedes dealership. The guy who owned it before was an older guy who apparently built cars up, drove them for 6 months, then sold them. Mine was a steal because he had already mountaed a new Warn XD9000i winch with new front bumper and brushguard, a roof Kongo cage to hold a roof rack, a CB radio, and KC light hook-ups pre-wired. If I had put that stuff on there after I bought it, I would have paid an additional $2k-2500. So, great deals are out there as I can certainly attest to it! Good luck, and if you buy this Rubicon or another one, I promise you are going to love it!

Frank

I paid $21,900.00 for my 05 Unlimited Rubicon that had 1849 miles on it. I bought it from a dealership and talked them down to that figure. It was darn near new and was stock under full warranty. Now, I have about $6500.00 into it.

I might be interested in your RE 3.5 kit when you swap it out as long as most of the parts are TJ Rubicon compatible - PM sent.

PM replied. They are all compatible. I didn't need the trans drop kit as I have a longer wheelbase but I still have it, NIB. BTW, the whole interior is LINE-X'd. I strongly recommend this. It helps ALOT!
