OK, I'm getting ready to buy an Aussie Locker (D30 lunch-box) from Northridge and put it in prior to Moab. I've got an open up front and a factory LSD in the D44 out back. Any one does this? Ideas? Suggestions? Someone is giving me a D44 open carrier for the rear, but I don't have the money for two lockers now, nor do I want to deal with replacing the carier yet either...

On another note, I'd like to get a low-profile T-case skid. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't think this will happen until summer, but I'm thinking about the MORE BL & MML with a JeepMedic t-case skid. Pros? Cons?

Thanks

The aussie up front is fine I know quite a few guys who have that type of locker up front and they seem happy

I would say dont bother with installing an open carrier to then install a "lunch box locker" in the 44
I would and did go for a detroit ,love it

Now as far as the T-case skid IMO it is the best money you can spend
however keep in mind that even with the LJ you may still need an SYE
I did the Nth* tummy tucker
With the tummy tuck ,3" of lift and 31" LTB's I have the same or better break over than guys with 3.5-4" and 33's
I can prove it on a huge log on the 101 course ,I make it and just kiss the log they bang on the log
also if you have the auto then you need to get a tranny skid too
to do the TT on my TJ cost close to $1000 after all was said and done ,but worth every dime

medic skid is no more, so theres a lot of options out there

the nth skid is being re released by aev really soon, along with the auto trans skid mentioned

teraflex makes one, i think currie makes one.....

ill probably go for the nth tt when the time comes, even though it is very pricey (515 from aev now)

Well, I had a custom skid fabrcated that did trany & oil pan. I wanted all three, but the guy misunderstood what I asked for. Oh well.
I would agree that the TT by any company is worth the $. I figure I'll need to throw in a MORE 1" BL & MML with it at a min. If a SYE and shaft are needed too with my 2.5 OME then so be it.

The only reason I was looking at the Aussie out back was the cost. The open is almost free, so it's just the labor to get that installed (not by me) and the price of the aussie. I will consider the Detroit in the back when I get there. it'll still cost an extra $350 though...
