TJ tire pressure and swaybars

Still learning:

- Surprised to find my 35x12.5s are running 21.5 pounds as delivered to me. What do you think the on road pressure ought to be? Air down pressure? Wheels are 15x10.
- Also, rear swaybar. On or off?

It seems to depemd on the brand. Some are stiffer than others. Most that i know that run 35 Mtrs run between 25 and 30. I have 33s and run 30psi. onroad. Offroad i run 10 psi on a 8" rim. 10" rims tend to blow beads more. I'd try 15 and work down from there until you like it and feel comfy.
Disco the front and always leave the rear connected.

Thanks. Interesting about your MTR pressures. The 245/75R16s on my KJ run nicely on road at 40psi.

But remember the Libby is a lot heavier than a Wrangler, so it probably needs higher air pressure to hold it up.

i dont know where you get your info but thats not true
i have an '02 TJ with the 3speed auto dana 44 rear and only 30" tires and just a few other small mods but nothing heavy like a winch and it weighs about
4300# +/- my wife has an '03 KJ limted all stock less the new trans skid and it weighs just over 4400# +/-
i work on industrial scales and weighing systems so i know how much my 2 jeeps weigh

as far as the psi in those 35"s i would go 25-30 psi on road closer to 30 for radial and closer to 25 if not less for bias
off road will vary like LOST TJ said most folks with 8" rims run less psi then with 10" rims
if you have on board air then i would start at 15 also and go from there if you dont have on board air then i would start at 18 and go down cause with no air you cant go up

oh yeah and as far as sway bars i always leave the rear in and always leave the front out
depending on what i feel like at the end of a ride i may even leave the front out and just drive home like that but take my time
i would not recomend doing that until you have a good feel for your rig though

I don't own a Wrangler (yet) but In the KJ's and XJ's the rear swaybar is one of the first things to go, yet you always leave it on in the wranglers? Can someone explain why?

Yeah I would like to know also. I've been running without a rear sway bar on the KJ for about 9 months now. I just have to watch it a little more in the turns. When the LJ is ready to wheel I might want to disco it or pull the rear swaybar altogether.

i am not real sure what would happen if you removed the rear swaybar on a TJ
I do know that depending on mods and that stuff it will handel differant
I know that on mine with
2.5" skyjcker springs rustys LCA's front ADJ tracbar and the sway bar disscoed up front when you turn on road it feels like you are going to flip
and it gets real "squirly" over 50mph
rember that if you hit the breaks or need to turn in a hurry even a fast lane change could send you flying or rolling down the highway
