These rigs perform very well. Even stouter than a TJ Rubicon, who'd have thunk it. One of these babies in green 4 door is definitely in my future. Here I am at the top of cadillac hill getting ready to go down. |

The JKs are awesome, more flex, more room, and better ride than a TJ. Nice to see 10-50 again. The KJs made it up just fine. Everyone got back out without issues. Number 2 and I had a few beers at the Sacramento Airport with Mike and Tammy before we all flew out. #1 |

You gotta love those rear seats in the 4 door, they fold almost completely flat and just enough room to lay back there w/ knees bent. I could totally see me spooning my wife in the back of one. Giggity Giggity Goo...All Riiight! The electronic disco was very cool and worked great, you could instantly tell when you disco'd it on an obstacle. Stock flex is good and w/ the electronic lockers these things were mountain goats going up obstacles. Some quick specs from the card found one of the 2 dr. I drove during the event: 3.8L V6 SMPI 202 hp @ 5k rpm 237 lb-ft @ 4k rpm 4 spd auto 17" al wheels LT255/75R17 BFG KO 4129 Lbs curb 16/19 MPG 4:1 NP241 transfer case NG (New Generation) Dana 44, Elec. Tru-Lock w/ Elec Stabilizer disco -FRT NG Dana 44 Elec. Tru-Lock, Rear Approach 44.3 Degrees Departure 40.4 degrees Breakover 25.4 degrees Base $26,090, Options $4260, Dest. $660, tested Price $ 31,010 I can totally see me owning a 4 dr in my future as I really fell in love with them. So Mike & Tammy, which one did you guys sneak into the other night?!?! |

I think we need 2 big trips a year. Moab, and Rubicon. Or switch them out for every other year. |

Totally not disco'd. Being used to a KJ, we forgot that was an option. Loved those lockers though! |

The Rubicon isn't enough for a week long trip. 2-3 days at most, with a KJ event having to go in half way and then back out. The half of the trail from Lake Tahoe to Rubicon Springs is definitely KJ doable. The half from Rubicon Springs to Loon Lake would be very difficult for any vehicle not on 33s or 35s, and if we made it would most definitely result in lots of carnage. Stay tuned, Midwest will probably begin hosting a yearly event in the fall in Kentucky. 72000 acres of trails at Coal Creek OHV valong with many other things to do in the rest of the area which is called Land Between the Lakes. This place definitely has enough to do to last a week. I'm sure the east coast guys will be happy - finally an event they can reasonalbly get to!. Don't forget about Fun in The Sun too - the guys in AZ work preety hard to pull that one off as well. Oh, and wait, what about Big Bear? you already have 2 big trips! |
