Nice! Congrats on the new rig, you're gonna love it. Which model did you get? SWB? Sahara? See if you can break my record of getting it dirty (at least go "real" offroading on the way home from the dealer  .

Just curious...where are you planning on mounting your CB? I want to put one in as well but I'm not sure where I'm going to put it yet...

PICS PLEASE! (I'll show you mine if you show me yours  )

Nice. Good choice of color. I wanted a Rescue Green one, but I didn't feel like waiting for months without a car to drive, so "settled" on a Greystone one. Still a Rubicon though, so who cares. I'm going to have it painted orange anyway (which I probally wouldn't have done if I had the Rescue Green one). Don't forget to check for lights, hood insulation, and paint behind the hinges when you get her!

you are not going to believe this !!!
I was not getting any call from my dealer - last week I've been waiting for the call - so one day I decided I was going to call my salesman and get an update.... conversation was ok - no news yet but he thinks he saw an INVOICE - so that means JK should be there - but it was not...

Well , yesterday I get a call, it is the sales general manager.... Sir, your jk is here - Unlimited Rubicon, Rescue Green, Dual tops, all options as you have ordered BUT...... MMMMMMMMMMMMMM . there is a little problem - IT IS MISSING TWO DOORS !!! - I went from happy to get a call to Angry to laughing my booty off in about two seconds - I could not believe what I was hearing. So I asked what hapened and the only thing I got from this guy was that somebody made an error somewhere down the line.... apologetic not enough, but sarcastic as hell - he said he would understand If I did not want to do business whith them anymore.
So I decided I want to go there, look at the paperwork to make sure I'm not being lied to, I see my salesman and he apologized enough and could not be more nice to me.... he was trying of course to sell me the 2 door but I stopped him right there and told him that was not going to happen - I want a 4 door - and that is it....
Found out while waiting for general manager that they received invoice prior getting delivery of the JK, found out it was a 2 door then - $ 5K diffenrence - but decided not to call me until they actually saw the JK - hoping that by any luck they get the 4 door and just the paperwork is wrong. Nope - the one on the lot is a 2 door.
So I decided to look for myself and make sure it was mine , went out to service garage and sure enough - it was there - sweet Rescue Green Rubi JK - the window sticker has my name on it - "Built Specifically for so & So"
I will add more to this story later - right now I'm on my way to see if a local dealer has a Rescue Green Rubi on the lot - Jeep.com says they do. Pixeldzn went on a jeep hunt last night but he could not see it on lot - hopefully it is inside...

wish me luck.....

this has been a ride!!!

WOW. Heads would roll...

I'd be even more pissed because you ordered it, and probally negotiated a price somewhere in the realm of invoice price. Because they "messed up" they now have a 2 door rubicon in a popular color sitting on their lot that they're going to be able to go and sell for MSRP or more. The GSM's attitude about it seems to be indicative that this is what he had been planning all along...Call the BBB and let them know about these assclowns, that is just WRONG. The factory wouldn't have "accidentaly" built you a 2 door instead of a 4 door, and from my understanding it would be pretty freakin' hard to mis-order a DIFFERENT MODEL. It's not like the unlimited is an option package on the JK...it's a whole seperate model. That's like ordering an XK and getting a WK...Seriously...rip them a new one by all means possible, I'd bet dollars to pesos that this was no accident.
Good luck getting you jeep...

Wow, I thought you were going to say that someone had stolen the doors off of it while it was in the dealers lot. It sounds like whoever put in the order messed up. I can't believe the factory made a 2 door if the order said 4 door.

Good luck in your search, and I hope you get exactly what you want. Good things can come out of strange happenings.

update....
Now I'm mad - now frustration is kickin in - I should have been like this last night - I probly woulda been thrown out of dealership for sure
sales manager did not even try to fix the problem - choices I was given; give me my deposit back, enter a new order, or take thetwo door JK. - WRONG on the last two - took my $$ back and walked out the door - They will never see me again there - well, they will, but at the service dept -
Worst of it all is the fact that even if he did apologize once, he did not even offered to FIX the problem. He knows that 2 door will be gone tomorrow and they will be making way above MSRP for sure.Too bad he did not care.... If it was me, I would have done anything in my power & means to get me a replacement.

Now.... I'm in a mad search for one - dealer mentioned yesterday that JK are hard to come by and it will be completely impossible to find one.... well a couple of phone calls and I have already found 3 - was that hard?? Jebus!
ok - enuf for now - will update later
