HI everyone,

I posted this on JK-Forum.com already but wanted to make sure peopl elook out for this problem I had on my JK. Hopefully its an isolated incident but please keep an eye out for this if you have kids

"""HI All,

I had a disturbing problem come up this week. I decided although I have a 2door I would like to drive around and enjoy the sights with my son who is 7 months old. Its pretty easy, Since it is summer and I take my top down every day (Except if he is in the car, Little lungs and high air pressure dont mix) I decided to throw a spare seat into the back for use on my weekend morning drives around PA. Now heres the part of this that scares the hell out of me.

I mounted the seat in the back through the front door since i had the top up at the time. This was the first time I ever needed to access the back seat so in effect the first time i pulled the lever which slides the seat forward/reclines. I mounted the car seat without trouble and put the passenger seat back in place. Luckily i didnt do this on the day I was planning on taking him cruising because I went for a drive later that day and when I pressed the brake the first time the seat slid forward and reclined forward as if i had pulled that lever. The headrest slammed onto the dash. I was shocked this happened so didnt think of fussing with it when the light turned green again.. I hit the gas and the seat slid backwards and reclined, this time it slammed (AND I MEAN SLAMMED) into the carseat and the headrest got jammed between the side impact head pads of the childseats and was wedged in.

When I got home I messed around with the seat but there was no getting it to snap in place like it should so I ran inside to tell my wife i was on the way to the dealership to have this fixxed. I sat down and started the car and I heard a loud click on the passenger side and the seat was locked im place again as if nothing happened.

I have since tried to make the thing happen again and have not been able to do so. I know that I will get the "Cannot replicate the problem" crap at the dealership but now I just know that in the event of an accident the passenger in the front or back can be killed/seriously hurt.

Has anyone had the same problem or should I just demand a seat swap from jeep?

EDIT:

I know it will be asked so here it is. The brakes were not slammed and the gas was not floored. This was casual stop/go at a intersection and the chair builds momentum as it slides on the rails before it reclines. Its like a darn catapult. I also made sure the seat clicked into place when i first installed the child seat. """
