So what's the trick to making the Jeep think the doors are closed when the doors are off? |

Pull the glove box out. Behind it is a fuse panel. Pull fuse #4. That is the door defeat fuse. Or if you want to spend money to fix this, Quadratec sells some spring clips you put over the door button to hold the switch in when the doors are off. They cost about $20. Just don't lose the fuse if you want to have the light on automatically in the winter when the doors are always on. |

chefdab - thanks, I'll look behind the glovebox but I think the fusebox in this rig got moved to under the hood when the new battery and the UltraCoil were installed..Unless there's two fuseboxes. I'll look into the Quadratec clips..that sounds better because I see myself putting the doors on and off with a little bit of frequency and fooling with and keeping track of fuses sounds like a pita. Thanks again! |

The fuse aint a big deal to remove and put back in but I would just keep it pulled it yer gonna go that route. x2 also on the quadratec clips, they are called Lights Out, IIRC and they are more like $10 I think, but dont remember for sure. Good luck ![]() |

All those things work great or you can do like I did, used some stuff I had laying around. Just wired in a switch that was hooked to that fuse. It also comes in handy when having the key turned on and the door open, you can turn off the circuit. So no more lights or door chime. |

I pull the fuse in May when I take the doors off for the first time. I'll replace it in Sept. Just don't forget to turn off the headlights. Without the fuse, your idiot chime won't sound to let you know the lights are still on. I learned the hard way one evening when I was leaving work. ![]() |
