Im looking at trading in my 02 KJ for a Wrangler, what mpg would the 4 cylinder get with a 5 spd? and what about the 6 cylinder? Im needing somethin that gets better mpg but I want a Jeep which sounds like the best deal to you? the 05 X? 2001 SE 4x4, 54,000 miles, 4 cylinder, 5spd, sound bar, soft top for $10,500 1999 Sport 4x4, 6 cylinder 5spd, 35,000 miles after market bumper $10,500 2000 4cyl, 38K $10,900 2005 X 4x4, V6, auto, 2in susp. lift, 32" pro comp tires, trail rated, sound bar 14,000 miles, front and rear bumpers, Hit in 2005 on front right corner. Replaced hood and right panel. No damage to the frame. Rebuilt title, has been inspected $12,900 |

Rebuilt title, has been inspected $12,900 If you want better MPG dont bother with a wrangler they dont get it trust me I have an '02 I6 3 speed auto with some mods on 31" SS LTB's and on the highway maybe 16 mpg w/3.73's the KJ with a lift and 245/75 MTR's auto 3.7 gets 18+ as far as what you posted they all sound OK with out seeing them I can not say but I will tell you this STAY FAR AWAY from the '05 wranglers in '05 never had a V6 and if the wreck was minor why the salvage title? |

A bit off topic, but Jason, how do you get 18mpg with a lifted KJ? Best I've done is 16mpg all highway. 18mpg was normal with stock tires and no lift. Like Jason said, the V6 was not available in any of the TJs and the salvage title is suspicious, there would have to be more than cosmetic damage for them to total such a new Jeep. |

Well when I'm not in the mountains(or in CO for that fact) but back home in SD I average about 18-20mpg's with my 5400+lbs POS,here in CO I can get 16-18 highway and 10 in town.

Surprisingly i get better mileage with the TJ than the KJ. My Kj lifted 245/75/16 get around 12-13.5 on average and my TJ get around 15.5-18 on average with 31/10.5/15. Both are running BFG mudders. |

how?! lol my KJ is pretty much stock i dont even have on my skid plate and the absolute best ive ever gotten is 19 and it was barely 19 it was like 19.23 or something |

I'm a desert rat. Well Troy does have 4.10s in his KJ, that will help alot in the highways. I usually get 15-16 on the highway, and 10 if it's all in town. Normally mine is around 13mpg, wish I could afford to replace my 3.73s with some 4.10s. I imagine if I just drove back and forth on the highway within the Central Valley here I'd probably do a bit better. |

![]() i live in KS and i dont get much flatter than this and i NEVER broke 20 highway and city crap i get something around 13 maybe 14 if im lucky man why does my jeep guzzle soo much more gas ![]() |

Guys there are soooooo many things that factor into the milage the KJ gets my wife drive 99% city and acording to the over head computer thing she gets 13.8-14 MPG wich is slightly off due to the fact that we travle around 1.1 miles and it counts 1 mile wich adds up I got my numbers by filling the tank to full and driving a long highway trip and after a few tanks devide miles travled by gallons burned thus I got 18 and change the computer claimed not quite 17 I used a GPS to count miles The other thing that saves us on milage is our driving habits wich to some are slow but look at the money we save we also do the proper maint. on the KJ at or befor it is due wich also helps now the TJ dont care it gets crapy milage going slow or fast city or highway but belive it or not it never gets less than 13 or better than 17 no matter what |
