Now thisalmost makes me wanna forgive Chrysler for not releasing the Gladiator....nah....I'm still ticked about that but the J8 looks like a sweet buggy! Does anyone know anything about the diesel being used?

Funny, they use the old VM motori diesel (can be found in KJ CRDs from 2005).

In europe we get the JK wranglers with 177bhp and 295lb/ft torque. 2.8 turbo diesel, of course.

JP Magazine reports that it will have either a 4 or 6 cylinder Cummins for the North American market.

I doubt we will ever see it on our shores. Too many uninformed Americans think that diesel is worse for the environment than gasoline engines are. But maybe, just maybe, when the planets are aligned, and there is a full moon...

I would also like one. Since they may or may not sell them here in the U.S I would try to build one using the J8 specs except for the engine. I would leave it the 3.8 V6 that came with the Wrangler

Do you mean that minivan motor??? I think not. Better off getting a 4.0 crate engine.

Isn't that the stock engine that is in the Wrangler? I may put the 4.0 or the CRD from the Liberty in it.

It is the only motor currently available but it came from Chrysler's parts bin. My mother's minivan (from 10 years ago) had that motor. The 3.8L is just a stopgap for something else that is probably in the works.

My local off road shop put a 6.1L HEMI in their 4door JK. That would be a nice option to have from Toledo.
