Just picked up a stupid 04 TJ. I will post some pictures in the next few days. 5 speed manual. Man a manual tranny was hard to find. Soft top with half doors. It will never live up to the ZJ. Later...Clint

hey clint...how are you these days?....I got a TJ a couple years ago after you taught me a few things about working on jeeps....I couldn't afford to keep the KJ and own a wrangler too....Gail still wishes we had the liberty.

I just recently completed stage one of things I want to do to this '98 TJ sport...

this is what is looked like until just recently....bone stock 30/35 w/3.07 gears....while I read the different forums and collected parts....

...10 days in my garage....till I ran out of new parts and money....

'03 rubicon dana 44 rear w/4.10 gears, factory locker
'99 XJ high pinion dana30 front with factory 4.10 gears, open (for now)
rubicon express 4.5 super flex kit (3.5 springs)....all arms adjustable
teraflex extreme short SYE with locally built rear drive shaft
1 inch body lift/motor mounts....teraflex belly-up and oil pan skids....kilby tank skid
rubicon rear disc brakes....vanco front ford brake kit....ZJ tie rod
33x12.5 BFG mud tires on 15x8x3.75 white steel wheels (retro CJ)

next year....more armor, cage, winch, front locker, etc.
I drive it every day....it's great....

I'd have never got interested in this hobby if it wasn't for you and this KJ forum...thanks man. I thought about calling you from time to time while I was wrenching on my TJ...

Steve, Dang nice "budget" build on the TJ using the Rubi D44 and XJ 4.10 D30. Looks like a fun ride...now just gotta get you back to Moab.....or maybe another location, next year to show it off in person. Every time I see the gazebo at the OK RV park I think about you and your Spiderman routine!! Son and I ran up to the foothills to check out the snow this year and thought about You and Gail playing in the snow that trip. Good times.
John

hey John....I was over in the moab section looking at the pictures and stuff. I see you straight axled your KJ. I had read some time back that Wally swapped his. That's great. I would have wanted to do the same thing but I knew it wasn't gonna happen for me.

I plan to get back out west to ride with you guys. Gail and I are fine. We live in that life stage where parents are aging and children have young families. So we need to spend vacation time with those related issues. Meanwhile I'm trying to get a jeep ready for my next adventure with you and your crowd...whenever that will be. Let's see....$4 a gallon x 4000 miles....

Best wishes to you and family....

sorry to hijack your post clint... :P

Steve nice looking TJ nice work. I remember the last picture it was at Tip Over Challenge I'm standing behind your KJ and Clint talking to you. Is the Rubicon Express kit a bolt on? You have a nice setup.

Just picked up an 04 TJ and here it is bone stock...Not for long that is...Let the mods begin... My wife named it Sluggo but she is telling me I have to call it Skipper until it gets some good mods on it because right now it is a Barbie Jeep. I have already installed a Lowrance Baja 480C and a ham radio but she is telling me those mods dont count. I was going to go with a 3" lift but I was told I have to run at least a 4.5" lift with bead locks or I would still have to call it Skipper. Dang that woman... I think I am in need of calling http://www.boulderbars.com for dang sure Later...Clint

"Skipper" for right now

Clint looks like you need a bigger garage door for that ZJ. Nice looking TJ by the way but I like your ZJ. Skipper going to have a Hemi in it?

hehehe....too funny....a Jeep guy builds a New garage and forgets the importance of having an extra tall bay door to fit through.

Silly Clint. Time to go back to Small Jeeps! Better stick w/ that 3" lift for the TJ so you can fit it in the door!

Man, I can't imagine how much it would just bug you to keep it stock too long. I think you'd lose your mind.

Hey Clint,

Hope you enjoy modding that TJ? It will be fun to observe your progress. Thanks for all you taught me when the wife and I were at Moab.

I've done a little modding on my JK.

Clint, So what is in the works for the ZJ? You keeping it too or is it on the way out now? (the TJ mod list on your site reads like you are swapping all the ZJ stuff over to the TJ??)
