I have an 05 LJ rubicon and was going to take more doors off the other day and my dome light won't go off. According to my manual it should go off after 20sec if the door is left open...well it is not, anyone know what I can do? I know for some jeeps there used to be a thing that clamped onto the pins to hold the pin in so the light would stay off but I don't know where to find them. |

Pull the fuse, I believe its number 4?? Or you could get one of those switch things from quadratec. Or you can make it yourself for really cheap. I just installed a switch to brake to circuit instead of pulling the fuse I just flip the switch. |

Behind the glove box there is a fuse panel. Pull out number 4. It is there just for that purpose. However, it also disables the chime that reminds you that your headlights are on after you turn it off. |

As David said, it doesnt remind you that your headlights are on. I always leave the parking lights on when it just about dark. |

I will give pulling the fuse a try, I thought about doing that but thought I was just missing something. And thanks for the great words of wisdome there Mr. Thompson but no the owners manual does not say anything about it, it doens't even say anything about removing the doors. I know I figured it would too. But thanks for the other useful ideas guys. |

I think if you turn the little dial for the dash light brightness all the wayy down they will go off after a few minutes. Its funny that even with no fuse in there. They still come on after you turn the key off? |

Yeah it still works, seems all that the fuse did was complete a circuit just for the doors and that stupid dinger. Thanks for the quick fix. 05Ren. ![]() |
