Now all my son needs to do is get a freakin' job!! No way am I springing for that much stuff for this Jeep. I'll install the BB and 31's, the rest is up to him. Knowing how he operates though, he will eventually get it built sweet. He is motivated and can't wait to get his work permit in about a year.

Very cool new Jeep JJ. I have a brand new set of flairs I can throw your way so don't go buy them. They are still all nice and black as well. We will figure out how to get them to ya. I moved over to the wider flairs because of the hub conversion...it pushed out the tires an 1.5" Later...Clint

That would be Great! THough they cleaned up ok, Sean isn't happy w/ the little damage to the Pass side front one. Not too bad but he wants to rough it up on his own so better ones would be cool........

Hey, I have an idea.....how about I pick those up from ya in October in Moab??

Too busy on my bumper project  ..... He changed the plugs the other day....gotta get a cap & rotor and then we will do the wires too and then off to smog.....then after wheeling This Sat I might tackle welding on the new lower control arm mounts on Sunday. Slow progress on this Jeep, no rush for Him to drive it anyway.

Little update: TJ passed smog w/ flying colors. Full tune-up, tank of gas w/ Amsoil PI in it and it ran nice and clean on the test. Thing runs like a champ, lots of power, AC blows cold, etc. Gonna add a muffler I have lying around for a little sound though. free so why not.

Got the title in the mail. :D If I don't wheel this weekend, I'll be plasma-ing, grinding, welding, etc. on the front diff to replace the LCA brackets and then the lift will go on shortly after that. I'll update w/ pics along the way cause I know this post is worthless w/out them.

Oh another thing I have to address.....leaking rear main seal...Ugh. I did the one on my XJ, also replacing the oil pump while at it and now need to tackle it on the TJ.......fun times.

Update on last post.... More research shows the XJ front HPD30 as a Direct bolt-in to replace a LPD30 in a TJ.

Yes it is and its a very good choice for a mod. Congratulations on the find. Your son is lucky!

These await. Front Poison Spyder customs flat fenders and steel tube rear flares. (scored them cheap, had to have 'em!)

Post subject: another update.....

Sean and I spent the whole day up in Big Bear at All J's shop working on the TJ. We got a lot of stuff done: finished up the 2" spacer lift by finally extending the rear bumpstop and adding in the spacer; (sat level before w/ 2" up front only, go figure) installed a nice All J's rear bumper and killer step style Boulderbars; installed a 1.25" Rough Country body lift and 1" jks motor mount lift. Now to just find some 32's to better fill the wheelwells with. (though it doesn't look too bad in person w/ the 245's)
Pics taken during installation were messed up. Flash on camera was acting funny and bright outside light messed up the install pics so only have an after photo to compare to the other Pre pics listed earlier in the thread.

She drove sweet on the way home and it feels more Jeepy now w/ the little bit of extra ride height.
we have a few other odds and ends to install and I'll make sure we get pics of those little things.
I think we will go find somewhere to flex her out and get some more pics of the installed parts. Then we gotta get this thing out on a trail for some wheeling!

oh, and btw, another cool thing to report: This thing had a pretty bad rear main seal leak when we bought it and since changing the oil to the full syn Amsoil 10w30 it has just about completely stopped leaking at the rear main. we had very little oil underneath it after our 90 plus mile trip to Big Bear and this morning it is still dry underneath. Gotta guess that the additives in the oil helped swell the seal back into shape. Thank goodnes too, I wasn't looking forward to doing the rear main in This Jeep. 8)

Michael, Cool but you are lucky w/ those half doors........ son wants a set of those.

Based on some researching, we are following a pretty good mod path and w/ some trades I have worked out, it isn't costing us much at all out of pocket.

Future plan for now is to keep the lift height where it is, keep the stock ctrl arms and eventually upgrade to OME springs and lose the spacers, probably add some OME shocks to go w/ it and install some sort of tummy tucker belly pan. Not sure which one yet but figure that will up the performance as far as rocks are concerned. After that it is a SYE, 32 or 33" tires and regearing plus rear locker (probably toss in a D44 then too).

For now she should perform well w/ the 245's and what we have so far. Can't spoil the kid too much!

My son spent quite some time climbing around inside it w/ friends after it got towed home. He is jazzed. (says 1st thing that has to go is the Raider fan plates and sticker on rear window  )

Whoa whoa whoa... RAIDER FANS? I read what you said about his academics, and he sounds like such a smart kid. It's a shame to see it go to waste by rooting for team like that 8) .
