So do you have faded out plastic flares on your TJ? You know, the ones that were black when you bought it but have faded to that terrible grey color. ![]() I hunted around for an easy slick way to fix them and found the usual info on Krylon plastic fusion paint, 2 part bumper paint and peanut butter.....ok, I made that one up...... ![]() Then I found the coolest solution.....well actually it was a Hot solution..... ![]() A Heat gun. Heating the flares up w/ a heat gun brought back the original black appearance and made them look like new again. We started at the bottom and worked our way around the flare moving slowly but not staying in any one spot too long so they wouldn't melt. You could see the flare change appearance as you moved the heat gun over the surface. Here's a few thousand words in Pic format: Ugh! Grey TJ flares: ![]() ![]() Heat 'em up! ![]() ![]() ![]() Good as new again! ![]() ![]() |

Do you think this would work on a KJ. My sport flares are kind of getting dull. |

Couldn't hurt to try it. Maybe test it in an inconspicuous spot first. |
