Who has one and what mods have you done...Reviews and pics please.

I'll be picking one up when I return from deployment, so this is fodder to get the mind going. Thanks

Post subject:  2007 JK X

I have an 2007 X model. It came with full skids, 4:11's, 17" Moab wheels and auto trans.

Modifications:
-Texa Flex 3" TJ front coils. These work perfect with the Warn 9000# winch.
-Rear springs are stock with 3" custom spacers.
-Stock shocks are very well designed. Custom 2.5" extenders.
-Full Traction rear trackbar relocater bracket. ( Bracket needs to be trimmed to keep from puncturing the shock body.)
(F.T. front trackbar relocater constantly set off the ESP. So i removed it.) No bumpsteer problems.

-Front stableizer (rancho) needs to be relocated above the tie rod to keep from being smashed. I crunched 2 of them. Custom bracket.
-265/75/16 Pro Comp extreme MT"s. Excellent on the highway, excellent in extreme offroad conditions.
-16x8 Pro Comp wheels with 4 1/2" backspacing.
-Warn 9000i with custom winch mount.

-Rubicon express front disconnects. They've held up great and easy to use.
-AFE cold air intake
-Magnaflo 22" mufflar. Very quiet. You could use an 18".
-Sububan roof rack.

Dislikes:
-Engin. Pretty gutless.
-Trans. - very high geared, tork converter won't break loose, making you have to manually down shift most of the time.

Likes:
- Offroad- 2nd to none. The best stock 4x4 available.
- The width gives more stability on road and off.
- Large flares for larger tires with less lift.
- Quiet on the highway

For the most part all of the new changes are improvements over the TJ.
If it had an engin and trans that were proportionate the the vehicle it would be the best street trail vehicle ever.

No issues so far. I am about to install some 4.88's which are due in September along with Super 30 and Mas Grande 44 axle kits. Bumpers and asthetic stuff are going to have to wait as making it more trail worthy has been hazardous to my bank account.

Oh, and I have the manual so I don't suffer the same transmission gearing woes you do, but sometimes I wish I had the auto when I get into tight situations.

For me the auto trans is prefered, though I'm sure the 6 speed would perform better.
In the rough stuff you can't beat the auto - plus it's possible to drive with a taco in one hand a coke in the other
cell phone on your shoulder and have a camera going and yell at your spotter without stalling the engin.

At 95 mph you doing slighty over 2200 rpm. That's high geared. Overdrive can only be used over 65 mph. Nearly worthless on this vehicle.

Maybe I just have a lemon. I don't know. I have 2 Liberties and they know of no such problems.
