Well Time to update the thread. The above pics were of the Ex-Fiances R10A... ahem... Since then I've moved down to Jacksonville and have spent the past couple of weeks building mine instead of hers.

First up was the lift.

I already had OME long travel shocks, all eight adjustable Rock Krawler control arms, and double adjustable Synergy Suspension track bars. So ordered a set of Metal Cloak 3.5" springs, rear lower shock brackets to raise the lower rear shock mount 3". Nemesis Industries lower front shock mount to raise the shock 3/4", move it outboard, and rotate it 90 degrees. Also used a set of Teraflex 2" front shock extensions to lower the upper mounting point of the front shock. After install, the front end was sitting an exact 2" lower than the rear... I'll be replacing the metal cloak springs in the next few months with either RK or SS springs since I know those are better quality. In the mean time I shoved a 2" Teraflex poly spacer in that I had laying in the parts bin. Synergy Suspension 3" front bump stops and 4" rears round out the suspension.

In the beginning...

Front done

And rear finished up

Shock mounts, Front...

And the rear. I know I still have to trim the LCA mount for clearance and box it for strength.

Running 37's I ordered Poison Spyder's front and rear flares for clearance.

Unboxed

First coat of paint, Gloss Black on the tube

Primer for the skin coat.

Spraying color matched rattle can from Automotive Touch Up

Image

Getting ready for install

Image

Front's on. Great match on color IMO!

Image

Image

Rears...

Image

Image

Image

Both...

Image

And to protect that $20 paint... Wrapped the top skin in a gloss clear vinyl.

Image

Trimming needs to be done.

Image

I also went ahead and sprayed the wheel wells gloss black while I was in there working.

Knocked out a couple of little projects.

Bushwhacker has a line that they call "Trail Armor". LOL. Anyway, they have a tailgate guard that I wanted, but it also came with a bug shield. Which honestly IMO is probably the best looking one I've seen for the JK. So I went ahead and installed that too.

Tailgate protector.

Bug shield

Another product in the line is there tub armor. Again, IT AIN'T ARMOR. Plastic material just like your flares. But Since I have sliders, I wanted something to protect the lower edge of the tub from scratches and rock chips. An added benefit is it also incorporates a door sill guard.

I also threw in a VDP cup holder trash can combo to help try and keep the interior "clean"

Other cosmetic enhancements to my mall crawler.

Found a cheap set of billet grill guards on ebay. Only problem was theory were chrome. Rustoleum to the rescue. I also took the time to install a set of Euro Light Gaurds. These are the crappy style that screw into the grill. A little later you'll see that it doesn't matter, and I had to replace my grill.

Image

Image

Image

Set of red Wrangler and Unlimited stickers to match all the red on the badging.

Image

Making the rub rings on the Level 8 ZX's "pretty". Again ATU's color matched rattle can and red paint.

Installed a PSC Tramp Stamp II and a plate delete plug, threw some red vinyl under the cutout to tie in the red accent color thing going on.

Image

Image

Something that bothers me on the JK. The transition from the tub to the rear bumper, hard to see in the above pic, but to me there just isn't a clear enough cutoff. So I cleaned it up a bit. Again, gloss black.

Still had my Rock Hard 4x4 Sport Cage, so painted that red and threw it in too.

Cleaning up the firewall area that shows when the cage is installed.

Cage in...

Installed the Maximus III winch plate, and an Engo 9000 winch, took the endcaps off the front bumper too, and played with the color matched paint to make it pop a little more.

Electrical stuff...

Used a Daystar dash panel and switches, and a Blue Sea aux fuse block to handle power distribution.

Image

Image

Image

Now you ask what it's powering?

Under the hood, Viair compressor, up front a set of Rigid Dually's, and a 50" LED bar on PSC mounts. In back a 4" LED bar, and LED rock lights underneath.

Image

Image

Image

Also lit up are the Truck Light LED headlights.

Performance...

Yanked to stock muffler, cut out the resonator, and put in a Flowmaster 40 Series Delta Flow can. The lap bands were emp and for fitment purposes before I burned it in.

On the Electronics end, Running a BullyDog GT for Jeep tuner.

Put in a set of Synergy Suspension's rear grab handles.

Image

Image

Blinged out the Pentastar engine cover. (cause I was bored that day waiting on UPS)

Image

Image

Image

And the latest project (90% complete, ran out of butt connectors for the wiring harness, so I'll wrap it up tomorrow). Drop down tailgate conversion from SWAG Offroad. Sprayed to match the body color and wrapped in vinyl to protect it.

Image

Showing my love for my Jeep parts pusher. Marcus at RCO. absolute best customer service, and by God if he can't get you the best price, he will send you to who can. Great guy!

Hinges (Black and Anvil)

When I quit for the day.

And back to the suspension...

This was a 23 degree RTI ramp that I hit at the Matanzas Jeep Club's Wheelers for the Wounded benefit last weekend.

965! That's equal to an 1103 on the standard 20 degree ramp.

Thanks man. Amazing when you are single with no bills and plenty of time... Can you believe all that was done between the hours of 11 and 4 on the weekdays for the past 3 weeks?

Unbelievable how much you got done in that timeframe. And yes, freed up cash flow helps!
