Nice pics daspes! :JEEPIN:

In all honesty, how would you compare the JK to the TJ in overall build quality?

Having owned a CJ, YJ, TJ, and the JK. The JK is the most capable jeep yet. Period.

The TJ is still a great Jeep it's just the JK does everything that it will do and more, plus it gives you more room for your gear, and more comfort while doing it!

Not trying to knock the older wranglers, I'm even looking for a YJ for the boy.

That’s good to know. Do you know when the last year of the JK is going to be? I think either 2012 or 2013 will be the next body change, although that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to be a chassis change.

Both yj's and tj's ran for 10 years. I expect the jk will end in 2016.

I don't know, wheeled with a lifted JKU Rubicon thursday with 37's and it did not do all that well compared to my SFA KJ on 35's.It did good but not what all the hype is all about, kept getting hung up on alot of things that I cleared with plenty of room to spare.Might have been alot better if it was only a 2 door and not a 4 door.

I think the 4door JK is longer then the KJ between axles.

It is. Much longer. The KJ is about halfway between the 2 door an 4 door. The extra break over that the JK unlimited has helps on some obstacles and hinders on others.

Nice build you have going. One day I'll have a Wrangler to build up. Right now, focusing on finishing college and getting a job to pay off the KJ ASAP.

But I agree with you on the JK ending in 2016. It's just a matter of time when the Wrangler will be IFS; which will no longer make it a Wrangler or even a Jeep.

I have to disagree. I think that by 2015 the Wrangler will be the only real jeep left. I think they'll have:
-Grand Wagoneer, large luxury model
-Grand Cherokee, Smaller luxury model
-Liberty/Cherokee, mid size crossover
-Patriot/Compass, small crossover
-Wrangler, the only real off-road capable jeep left.

I wouldn't be surprised to see all the models except the Wrangler with independent suspension all around.

So your saying that your KJ is not a real Jeep?

We get enough of that crap from people who don't know what the KJ is capable of, we don't need it from owners too...

Not that I am saying I am a huge lover of IFS (or a hater of it) but I know what my KJ can do and it is every bit as capable as a similarly equipped JK, or TJ, YJ etc. and as an owner of both a built JK and a built KJ, daspes knows this as well, so why wouldn't the Liberty be a real Jeep? because it has a better on-road ride? poppycock!

Geez! Getting your panties in a wad over nothing. Was I talking about the Liberty, NO! I was referring to the Wrangler only. You took what I said way out context.
I like my Liberty and it has never let me down. It's staying in m possession until it rots to the ground.

no panties here-I don't believe in them. You said that when the Wrangler goes IFS it will no longer be a real Jeep...by extension that would mean that because the Liberty is IFS it is not a real Jeep. Which confused me as I knew you loved your KJ.
