Installed a new starter motor this past Sunday, and now the jeep starts right up - no pumping the throttle or anything 8)

Installed front shocks this morning and UPS brought me new motor mounts !

These will be Saturday's project...

You know, you made the back end look so nice, might be time to paint over the camo up front.

Yesterday I added swapped out the old crappy motor mounts with new prothane mounts. Also added an aluminum 'skid' plate below the fuel cell to keep any debris kicked up by the rear wheels away from the gas tank.

The CJ will be making it's debut this weekend at the Badlands

any type of rear fenders to keep some of the mud from being thrown up on your back, etc.? Buddy had like half fenders that worked well from being covered at the end of the day.
They were actually were half fenders from a semi (EVEN polished aluminum)
Just wondering :?

I was thinking about doing something like that but wasn't sure the best place to mount them. I'm going to run it as is and modify as need be :P

We mounted his about half way down on the front side of the tire, extending back to about right over the very top of the tire, After a day in the mud is was pretty clear ( well not so clear    ) where they needed to be. Just enough to keep the mud off the back of your head and mainly the back side of the windshield ( if you have it up)
Will be good to see that thing out and running the trails!

Lots of great work went into it!
Tom

The CJ finally made it somewhere !
Not with out problems of course, but all the welds held, the rear bumper/frame stood up to recovery straps and a hilift, the electrical I modified didn't catch fire and the cage wasn't used - all things considered it was a good day and a great first real run for the cj :D

Image

Current fix it list...
- steering links
- radiator woes
- reestablish power to front wheels

Me thinks your tow vehicle is fine. You need a plate style auxiliary trans cooler (I bought a big one at the JY for $20) and to not tow in OD. Image

So what were the towing issues with the Libby?

The KJ pulled the trailer just fine. Had od on on most flat ground, off for hills and inclines. Had the trans temp light come on for a few minutes on the way home ( about halfway ), but it turned it self off and no other issues came up.

Made a fan shroud and got that installed. Much more air is flowing through the radiator, but the darn thing keeps overheating... I think the rad is just bad =/

Shroud...

Haven't had the time or money to really do much lately =/
