I checked out a rubicon unlimited wrangler today. It was sweet. I have been planning to lift my 2008 liberty with the 4" JBA lift and get 235/85/r16 (32") tires a cost of $4000. Now I could go to the dealer ship and trade my liberty in for a rubicon wrangler unlimited that already has 32" tires and has a lift that would be still slightly higher than a 4" lifted liberty with 32" tires. So do i give the dealership $4000 and get a truck that will out perform the liberty? My payments would be $100 more per month. hmmmmmm |

Well if the JK fits all your other needs and $100 a month doesn't negatively effect the rest of your life then it sounds like a good way to go. |

Waiting for the number, but I bet I would be about $1000-2000. So I figure put $4000 down and the loan per month would be about 100 more than i pay now. I got my KK for 22k and the rubicon is about 30k plus tax & lic. |

Well, if it is what you really want, and are OK with the #s, then go for it. |

Don't get me wrong I really like the kk just I have had it for 7 months and have not been offroading really. The 4" JBA lift would be nice thou thou the wrangler unlimited I sat in today was was nice. I liked the hard top how it could be taken off in three sections. so i could get remove the part over me or me and the passenger. The rest is interior similar to the liberty. |

The new JKs are a lot more refined inside than the TJs are. The wheeling capability of a JK Rubi will, in my opinion, far surpass a KK with a 4" lift. Is it what you really want and are you willing to live with $100 more a month in these uncertain economic times? |

Is it what you really want and are you willing to live with $100 more a month in these uncertain economic times? Yeah I been out of work for 3 months. I guess if I am thinking this I can't be too scared. did not think I could afford my KK I got a 20k loan for 6 years $335/month. I don't do much 4x4 now but hope to and have not started as I don't have my lift yet. Been saving! almost there. Could do it next month. I do tow in the summer months across the desert from la to laughlin a 5 hour drive. so i thought the wrangler could not tow more than 2000# and i tow 2200 - 2500# and with my 4.3 vortex it was nothing, but coming out of needles on the 40 was hard it took all the power to keep a 55 mph drive with a/c on. Just looking for thoughts so thanks all. |

I'm not sure what part of the country you're in (blank location on your profile), but if you don't off road that much... Save the cash and get the X model. Unless when you wheel you really need the seriously low crawl ratio of the Rubi, then the X with it's NP241 2.73 low range will be more than enough for you. That should put the JK at the same price as what you paid for your KK. |

What dealer are you shopping with? And... Your KK is a lot more comfortable inside then the JK is. Think about how much you are really going to off road vs. road trips. And I know all about that hill coming out of Needles in the summer time. Did every weekend for a year pulling the boat. Then the next year I got storage out there. That was the ticket. |

The Valencia Big Horn Dealership. That is were I got my KK. Henry is a nice salesman. He opened up the wrangler and left me to tear it apart by myself. I do more trip to the river than anything. I love the river! We use to go every other weekend. I did think about storage, but my mechanic is out here and I use to go to castiaic the off weekends |
