getting an easy 3" lift ordered and kerry wants some 33" tires
to go with it. figure we would get some sort of mild coil lift and
some black rock crawler rims with some 33 10.50 bfg's here in
a few weeks. ill post up pics. so far kerry's loving it to death.

she is getting used to the feel of a wrangler, cuz it doesnt drive
like her f150 did LOL very rudimentary if you will..

im not really sure - last jeep i had was the liberty and there
was limited coil lifts available as you know, but there
are TONS of options for wranglers so i have some study'in
up to do to see whats the best bang for the buck.

if you have some ideas feel free to throw them out here so
i can do some research...

Depending on your budget, you could even just do a spacer lift and body lift and have enough room to clear 33's. I've read that being done on the other boards all the time. As for full suspension lifts there are a ton to chose from. The only time there is any difference between the TJ and LJ lifts is when it comes to long arm lifts. Otherwise any short arm lift for a TJ will work on your Jeep. Oh and with the longer wheelbase, you can generally go a little higher (3-4 inches) without having to worry about doing a SYE to correct pinion angle. When I built mine, I knew I only had one chance to do it, so I went all out. No turning back now.

looks good david, real good ! what lift is it ?

also i was looking around for a 3" coil lift and
a 1" body lift. i have read that body lifts on
the wranglers are extremely easy to put on,
can you or anyone verify this ?

cant wait to get this thing in the air a bit
and off road, we have missed wheelin since
we sold the kj.

That's the Rubicon Express 5.5 inch long arm kit. Very pricey though. If you get long arms, you also have to address the exhaust because the stock muffler will get crushed by the lower arm when that side is compressed. I don't have a body lift (personally don't like them), but have also read that they are easy to install. The biggest problems with them are moving your fan shroud to keep everything lined up and possible issues with the transfer case linkage (there are brackets available to correct this). Some would say that 3" suspension and 1" body is enough to clear 35's. But you have to really extend your bump stops for that. With that set up, I would stick to 33's.

This is our 2002 Wrangler X... Posted a stock and lifted pic's for you. It has a 2.25 Rubicon Express Budget Boost and 1.25 JKS Body Lift. My husband installed them both, and they were VERY easy to do :D. We have 245/75/16 Goodyear MTR's on it now but I am sure 33's would fit no problem.

Stock when we picked it up :D

With the longer wheelbase, you may not need the transfer case drop. When you install the lift, you might want to leave it out and take it for a test drive first to see if you get any driveline vibration. If you don't get any vibes, you should be able to leave out the drop bracket. But even if you don't need to drop the t-case, you might want to start saving for a slip yoke eliminator anyway. It's still the better route in the long run.

so far ive ordered -

rough country 4" x series lift with upgraded 2.2 shocks
smittybuilt rock crusher bumper front and rear
warn winch
safari mirrors so we can run with the doors off
set of rock rails
goodyear wrangler duratrac 33x12.50xr15, putting them
on the stock ravine rims

only think im worried about is the weight on the front end. im
calling jeffrey @ rc to see what the spring rates are on the
kit we ordered to ensure they are heavy duty enough to hold
the winch.

will post pics once we get it all installed.

That should be a sweet rig when you're done! Are you doing the install yourself?

i did this same lift in the first week of april, they forgot to send me the Tcase drop kit and i had vibes, once i put the t case drop kit on the vibes went away completely, i had to make some changes to my shifter boot becuse it wouldnt let me go into second easily, other than that i love this lift kit, i have so much flex now, check out my photo bucket with some pics, from when i brought it home stock untill now:

Me personally would have went with the OME Lift for your TJ. It well ride a lot better than that RC lift.

if they made 4" springs thats what we would have went
with. LOVED the ome lift for our old kj.

the wife wanted a 4" lift, so thats what she got.
hopefully the 2.2 shock upgrade will help out.

sorry its the green one, i forgot my coworkers jeep is in there too, after i put on the T case drop kit on the shifter got lowered about an inch and that caused the boot to bunch up badly when i went to shift into second, i just popped the boot up and let it sit lower inside the console, im gonna make a new boot and reattach it to the console correctly one of these days.

after i put the T case drop kit on i have had no complants at all about the kit, im very happy with how it performs on road and even more offroad
