Saw it sitting on the lot at one of the local Jeep dealers
green 07 Sahara 11000 miles

all 4 flat fenders BUT they were plastic or something would be afraid to have someone even touch them, looked good from a distance though
35 inch BFG Muds ( but only 4 of them spare and spare wheel were stock)
seemed to be about a 3 to 4 inch lift
rode like crap though
power wise.  ...........had to use 2nd a lot even flat ground compared to the Liberty from light to light, felt really heavy to get rolling
They wanted way more than what its worth I think, told them to install 4.88s, ARB lockers front and rear and we would talk, they just kept going back to "BUT ITS LIFTED and LOOK AT THOSE NICE TIRES"

Salesman called me this afternoon and said "what is ARBs" and stated he looked it up and "they don't make different gears for the JK" and even if they did the Service Manager said "it would kill my gas mileage"

anyone else think they are slow compared to the Liberty?

w/ stock gearing and 35's it sure should feel sluggish. Did it even have the 4.10's in it? Rubicons I drove around w/ stock everything felt fine on road and off and comparable to the KJ. I have heard others complain about stock gearing w/bigger tires though.

Well they are a Chrysler / Dodge etc Vin Devers on Monroe so they should know
Clearly though the salesman knew nothing about Jeeps, I had fun playing with him , asking all sorts of questions that I knew he had no idea of what I was talking about. 9 calls so far today wanting to make a deal with me  He said if he sold it he got extra points or something

Tommudd.........I have some seat time in an 07 JK Sahara. Has dana 44 rear and 4.10's from the factory..... and the stock tires with moabs though and no lift. So it is a little different. The only aftermarket stuff on it are front bumper and winch. It rides real smooth compared to a tj anyway and is not sluggish at all. I suspect the bigger tires and no regear might have something to do with the sluggishness of the one you drove as you said.

Thats what I fiqured , with 35s it really needs to be regeared . I may go back and try to deal some more, Its not bad just some things that I would need to do to make it more enjoyable to drive. But then I would miss the KJ

as far as I know, they make 4.56's and 4.88's for the JK. Also IIRC the front diff in the KK uses the same gears as the front of a JK

IF...they would happen to deal it would get 4.88s for sure, then I would be done with it, almost take off the small 35s go to 37s and be done, well except for building a ladder to get my parents in and out!    Don't think they want to sell it bad enough yet though

Stock tires on that weigh 42 lbs. each. 35's are going to be much heavier and harder to move.

I really think they are sluggish as well. We put some 4.10's in a customers rig at my brother-in-laws shop, and put the stock tires back on. It was still a bit sluggish for my liking. The guy we did it for is lifting it an putting 39's on. I don't think he will be able to move out of his own way.

4.10's and he is going to 39's?! thats not gonna work out too well.....then again, he will probably have more than just gearing issues running 39's on stock running gear if he actually wheels it.

I think all 07 JK's came with 4.10 gears.

Tom Congrats! Post some pics. They have gears for the 30/44 up to 5.13 now. If you have an early 07, you may have a 35 in the rear though, and I believe you may be stuck at 4.88 which is great for 35's, works with 37's depending on terrain and where you live, etc...

Inc, Hez10 - JK's come from the factory with 3.21, 3.73, or 4.10's depending on transmission and if you have the tow package

I remember reading somewhere that in 08 or early 09 they dropped the Dana 35 and only put the 44 in the rear now. And when they did that, I think they upped the gear ratios to 4.10 for non-Rubicon models and 4.27 for the Rubis. (Of course I read that on the internet, so take it with a grain of salt.)

Nope, They dropped the 35 after the first few months of production. 4.10's is as low as the gearing comes from the factory.
