Well, I've joined the ranks of KJ owners who have gone to the dark side. My wife decided that she and the kids should join me on more of my 4-wheeling trips, so we went in and plunked down a few bucks on a new JK Rubicon.

It's hard to believe, but I'll be selling my KJ and relearning everything all over again so that I can get my JK properly equipped. So, I'm hoping to get some good tips from the rest of the JKers on the forum.

I imagine I'll stay mostly stock for about a year, while I learn about all of the options that are available. But I may pony up for a 2" BB so that I can fit 33" tires, then go more extreme in a few years.

We put a Teraflex 2.5'' lift on on my GF"s mom's rubicon, and with stock 31's on it and that lift it sits the same height as my Rubicon(TJ) with 4''LA and 33's

Thanks! I appreciate the advice on the 2.5" kit...that looks like about the perfect compromise between cost and functionality for me.

So...the stock tires and rims look okay with 2.5" of lift? I'm thinking that I'll keep my stock rims permanently, and wear out my stock tires before upgrading to 35s.

Congrats! Since you plan on running 33's, Just do a leveling lift in the front and you'll be good.

Cool, thanks. I just joined. (Of course, that forum will still be secondary to this one.)

LOL...thanks, alot, Burchie--like I really needed THAT to worry about!

She's already 6 going on 16...and I understand they've made it illegal to keep her locked in the basement during her teen years. So I'm very afraid.

Must be nice. I'd give up both cars for a fully loaded JK. Maybe even some money..

Welcome to the ranks of JK owners. A spacer lift is an inexpensive way to make room for 33s.
I have the Rough Country 1 3/4" spacers on mine with stock 32s.

Check out www.jkowners.com

They had a server problem and are working on restoring the site.

JKBOARD Update
Tuesday, May 26th, 2009
As you’ve likely figured out by now, JKBOARD went down about a week ago. We’ve got the server back in our grubby little hands and here’s where we’re at on getting the site back up.

The server is running again. This is fabulous news, because that means we can get to the data (users, posts, threads).

We also have moved JKBOARD to a new host where the latest version of the board is already working.

We are now trying to upgrade the old board to the new version. Assuming we succeed, we will then try to import it to the new host and turn it back on.

I know the feeling.

Of all the JK boards, I like that one the best.
