Post subject:  New to the Wrangler Realm
Hey Guys,

This is the first time I am posting in the Wrangler Discussion area, and for good reason :D I just purchased a 94 YJ with a 4.0L (137K miles). Other than that the Jeep is pretty stock. The entire tub has been RhinoLined. I have included a few initial pictures of it. I was previously a KJ owner but traded that in so the wife could get a new Ford Fusion. But now I am back on the Jeep bandwagon and loving it so far.

Since I am new to the Wrangler side of Jeeps, wanted to get others opinions on things I should check over or have done to the Jeep. This will be my daily driver for at least the next year or so, nothing too extreme for now.

For now, I would like to put a mild lift on it so that I can get some nice MT tires. I will need some input on what lift people suggest. After that, I will have to start savings up for the next upgrades.

is it an automatic or did you get a manual? I know OME makes a lift for it :wink: 8) what size of tires are you wanting to run?

It is an automatic. I would have rather had gotten a manual but this was the only 4.0 in my price range.

I would love to get some 32's under it but don't know what that would involve (regearing, trimming, etc). Any idea?

I have to do some real research but just bought it last night so still thinking of all the cool stuff I could get.

I dont have a clue. I bet you could start gather the parts need to make it an auto to a manual. I dont think it would be too hard to get 32" under it, but Im not sure

Sweet YJ!

ThunderbirdJunkie would go Rubicon Express for the lift. the 3.5" Extreme Duty (that's what it's called, right?) would be sweet...just get GOOD shocks instead of the crap shocks with the RE sticker.

That would allow you to run 32s, given the right offset on the wheels.

Then trim the fenders and run TJ flares

You can get some shackles from pretty much anywhere to raise it enough to run 32's for pretty cheap. I'm sure RE makes new springs too but that would be more $. Check under it to see if there are already shackles there. If not get some. And longer shocks would be good. Anything over 2 1/2"- 3 '' then you'll need the SYE adaptor on it. Not too hard to do, but pricey. $400 plus. What are your axles D25/ D30 or do you know? That will dictate your total height as to what tire to run. Congrats on the purchase. However a TJ would be more comfy with coils vs. springs :D

I would do a superlift or an OME lift, with shackles. Not to high but enough to stuff some 30 to 31's under that.

I agree rubicon express is best way to go. if you need some tj flares I have a set just sitting around for real cheep just pm me.

I had a 93 - did an OME - all poly bushings and the curved shackles - can't remember what they are called. Ran 31 BFG at's.

Good articulation with the swaybar dis-connected,31's were big enough and ride was much better than stock.

the boomerang shackles??
