02 wrangler 5 speed = NV3550 10 spline 1 1/8th dia shaft correct?

im sorry for putting this in the wrong section but I kinda need a confirmation today and the TJ forum doesn't seem to get enough traffic to get a timely answer

also need a 02 wrangler service manual in pdf if anyone knows where to get that without paying 15 bucks on a questionable site for a digital download

Sure you got the trans right but unsure about spline count/diameter of it.

I don't know what the spline count is.

But whatever it is it is the same as the spline count/size as a KJ NV3500, or a KJ NSG370, or TJ NSG370, or AW4, or 545RFE etc etc.

It's too bad you didn't download the TJ service manual from me last week. I would suggest searching around a little more for the free FSM in PDF format.

Spline count for the input shaft is 10 splines x 1-1/8" diameter, the output shaft has 23 splines.

I'll move it to the correct section after you get this, so that others can find it in the future.

thanks daspes! i got it!

I really hate knowingly posting stuff in the wrong place but i gotta go get the clutch in the morning

Here, i'll tell you what my bonehead friend did

#71 under things NOT TO DO

#71 reads - Do NOT spray liberal amounts of WD40 into any and every crevice you're able to find around the front and rear of the transmission thinking you must have washed off necessary oil and something must need lubricated

Mr. Bonehead was washing under his jeep and decided it was a great idea to spray high pressure water god knows where, then when he went to go to the store he was having trouble getting it in gear. It also started making 'weird noises'. So he decided it was a good idea to empty a can of WD40 where ever he could stick the red squirty stick thinking he had washed off some grease somewhere where there was supposed to be grease

/facepalm/

And yes James if you happen to read this or any of the other CCOR guys, it was James#2 with the red wrangler

Even if "I think I washed off some needed grease" was true, spraying WD-40 is about the worst solution to that problem....unless your solution is to remove whatever grease is left.

exactly

and it does tend to soak into anything that is .. say.. organic

owner of the shop down the street when he called to talk to him about it after i called him a doofus (among other things) said if he was lucky it would burn off

well he took that to mean it was ok to drive it on his daily errands while it did it's 'burning off'

by the time he got home he couldn't get it into gear unless the engine was off

i'm not going to make any assumptions about a jeep straight drive, cause dog knows many vehicles differ, but ive driven many a vehicle home after a race with rung out pressure plates with no clutch at all using the starter to get it going at stop lights (well i know his jeep won't do that without removing the safety switch) and changing gears without the clutch, you just gotta know when to pull the skinny stick and not poosay foot around with it - but apparently he drove home in 3rd or something burning clutch the whole way

yea if i wanted to replace some grease with a straw i'd squirt white lithium all over/in/on it :P
