Any suggestions while I'm doing this job? Also taking out interior and redoing tub coating after axels are back in. Will post some pics as job progresses.

What 44's are you using? Rubi 44's will be a direct bolt on mod. Anything else, you may be looking at new driveshafts, etc. If they are used axles, check the normal things, axle seals, condition of the tubes, if you can crack the cover off to inspect the gears even better.

Nice new bolt in from drivetrainwarehouse. We got the on sale for not much more then it would have cost to build ourselves. So all we have to do is swap brakes and steering and we are good to go. We got 4.88s with Detroits in front and back.

Job is going good, with typical problems. Daspes, drive shaft is about 1 or 2
inches to long but I found someone to cut, weld, and balance it.

It's right around 1 to 1.5 longer. Would have been nice if they told us that kind of sh*t when we ordered so we could have shafts ready. I think we have more play in back though.

Yes and then front driveshaft and hopefully not the back shaft.

The 44 uses a different u-joint than the 30 and the 35. If you haven't already, you will need a conversion u-joint if you intend on using you're previous shaft. I think it's a 1310/1330 joint. (been a while since I read about it)

New top speed can get up to 85!! And can pass up rigs. Hitting the trails sat. or sun. will fill in on how lockers work out.

Everything except the 2.5 and the 5 speed!! Good motor but no power at all. Going to go for ride latter, will fill in on how Detroits work out.

All I can say is wow!!! The 4.88's are a world of dif. Lockers are a must have, stuff we would need four low for we are having no problem in 2wd, four high stuff we can crawl up with no problem. The front locker will take some getting useto on turns in loose sand it wants to pull straight, but no big deal!
