Nice! 8)
Have you seen the new versions that Savvy is coming out w/? They are aluminum tub skins w/ replaceable stainless rub rails that bolt onto the tub skin.

jj i havent seen the savy ones yet, but ill check em out.

i wanted to go with aluminum ones due to the weight.
they seem very beefy, but we'll see if they gouge any
when doing their job, which im afraid they may.

i promise they are waaaayyyy better than the rubi rails.
LOL

i added a few pics when i pulled it out of the geerage.
got the aussie locker for the front im about to install
as well, then its regear to 4.56. hopefully the wife
will be done after that.

For reference:
http://www.savvyoffroad.com/

I'm sure yours will work just fine for most hits and scrapes. The Al. movement in Jeep parts is going crazy. I am wishing I had the funds to work on some custom parts for my SFA to replace all the heavy steel pieces. Maybe some day.

 wow those are hella nice they look beefy
too... i didnt see a price on... i have seen the
aluminum movement as well, looks like places
are coming out with more and more products. the
weight savings really pays off and helps justify the
price for sure.

I need to check them out also. I wanted the warn gas skid but it must be heavy as hell. Al would be perfect. I'm not hitting rocks unless a mountain pops up in the fla panhadle soon.

If you are not hitting rocks then that just means that you need to head West and visit us in Cali or similar locations so you Can hit some rocks!!

Yes, rocks are way way better than sand :D You could always drop by CA and play in the little mountains and then drop by CO to play in the BIG boy mountains

Would love to get out there!! That would be a hell of a tow from Fla, and would take a month to drive it at 55-65mph. We have some light rocks in Al. But never got to check them out yet. Maybe after we are done with axel swap. Btw jj your boys tj looks good on them rocks.

just a little info on the actual hardware that came with
the bars -

the mounting holes that were drilled in the actual bars
were 5/16th size, but the mounting hardware that came
with were of 3/8th flavor so i had to drill the holes out.
the nuts that came with it were fine thread while the
hex head bolts were of course thread, so i had to go
to ye ole home depot to get the matching nuts to work
with the hex head bolts. last thing - there are three
mounting locations on the bottome of the tub and one
of the bolts needs to be roughly 5" long but all three
bolts were only 2", which is more than enough for the
front and rear mount, but not near long enough for
the middle mount.

not sure if there was a mix up on the guy who put the
hardware in the bag, but it was a small inconvenience,
and when you pay over $300 for a set of rock rails,
you would expect to have everything correct.

once again, the actual rails are super bad arse, just a
little to be desired on the hardware.
