i do not think my d30 will last on the wrangler. so instead of buying a new ring and pinion to match the rear 8.8 (4:10). I think i would be better off buying a d44. what do you all suggest for an 89 wrangler. i would like to keep the wheel lug pattern the same unless i could get an adapter... i need a driver side drop also.. :?:

Well a D44 that keeps the 5x4.5'' 15 pattern. It well be hard to man. you can look for a tj or jk rubi 44 but i would just as soon get a aftermarket d44 than pay for the rubicon diffs. umm, wait for tjkj to reply. Might just be cheaper to find a built d30 up front and stick it in there.

You only have one choice for a front D44 that has the 5 on 4.5 BP and that is the front D44 from a '03-'06 Wrangler Rubicons. They require special gears and the knuckles out are D30 stuff and they are a low pinion axle so your not gaining much. All other D44's are either 5 on 5,5 on 5.5,6 on 5.5,or 8 on 6.5 BP's.
