I did a solid axle swap the EASY way! Now driving a 2010 natural green Rubi Unlimited. While I plan to keep the mods, well modest, on this rig I'm sure I'll be picking some brains soon regarding wheel and tire sizes. Looking to go 35" tires on this one and some decent skids. Then I'm DONE! As much as I loved my KJ it was a long road/fight just to get 31" meat under there. That was back in the days when we were still guinea pigs though. With this JK things seem SOOOO much easier. :D

Yeah, unfortunately in the last 48 hours we have had tornado warnings, rain, hail, and finally a winter storm warning. Gotta love Colorado. The new JK has handled it all (including hail on our maiden voyage) like a champ. Right now we have about 10" of snow on the ground. At any rate, things haven't been conducive to picture taking. Maybe in a couple days. And I was really hoping to take those freedom tops off. :banghead:

I guess the good news is I haven't found any leaks!

Congrats on the JK! I got the same snow storm down here in Monument. We always have to get something in late April. At least it gives you a chance to play with it in the snow before the summer weather.

Happy Jeeping! :JEEPIN:

I just wanted to put up a pic of the new JK in stock form. Don't get used to it...I plan to add a lift, tires, flat fenders, and bumpers by next week. But for comparison sake...

Are you going to cut the fenders yourself or go aftermarket? Here's a very good JK only site with answers to all of your questions and a good how to section, including DIY fenders....

X2, JK-F brings the suck. Bogus threads, false info, and one sided.

JKO FTW!!!

Yeah, WOL and his gang are pretty heavy handed over there, but I still think they have a very good tech section. Anyway... it's his forum to run the way he sees fit. He's making pretty good $$$ from his sponsors.

JK owners is pretty good too. LOL... the first members are the ones WOL banned from his board.

I'm a member of both boards. I've never posted on jk-f and I haven't ever really heard anything good about it.

As for the flares - the bushwacker flatties have already been installed.

You can't see em because they are behind little cages in the bumper. But yes, I could probably stand to mount up a few more.

Some of the SFA liberties are sure fantastic and UNIQUE. You'll certainly never look over in the next lane and see somebody driving the same thing as you. But you need a big bag of cash, a lot of patience, and the ability to fabricate almost everything from scratch. Buying a JK sure beats waiting 3 years+!!!! You listening Ted? :P
