I'm building a 95 YJ Sahara I got for 100$ with a blown up 4.0L I have a 4.2L from a older YJ with High compression pistons that was freshly rebuilt 3 Years ago but never actually ran the 4.2 also has a 4.0L Head and everything to plug into the 4.0L Harness I had it running with just the bell housing on sounds good but I hit a snag I didn't see coming.(I never really researched anything I just kind of jumped in now I'm lost) How do I get the 4.2l to Hook up to the AX15? The 4.2 had a Peugeot Tranny on it when I got it, or atleast thats what I was told. Think it was in a 88' YJ. The input shaft is way different. Maybe I'm being dumb and just not getting thing right its hard to work alone on it.

Awesome!!! I love YJ's!

Your right the 4.2l's came mated to the craptastic Puegot BA-10 tranny. BUT they also came from the factory with AX5's and 15's so you should only need the AX-15 bellhousing (those BH's are trans specific) to bolt it in...

Here is write up from Jeep Forum on someone who did the same swap, hope it helps.

Yeah Pilot Bearing DO'H it's too small to accept the AX15 input. I was really surprised how the AX15 and Peugeot bell housings where exactly the same minus the mounting tabs/Holes for the Master Cylinder. It even had a spot to bolt the crank position sensor that was the strange part to me. Completely different fly-wheel. I will post pics as soon as I get off my :furious: and charge the camera
