Just wanted to know if anyone knows what type of tire the new Wrangler Rubicon is running. I just drove one yesterday and it was so smooth on and off the road. Is it an AT tire or ad MT? Thanks.

BFG KM MT in 255/75/R17

If you are going to buy BFG MT, spend a few extra bucks for the KM2. It is a much nicer tire, but if you want cheap, look for a set of rubi take-offs.

really? wow.

the km2 tread design came from the krawler competition series and was toned down a bit.

I run the goodyear kevlar mt/r myself, but had some km2s in the 33" variety for awhile and they were darn good performing, good on the road, and didn't need the constant rotation of the original KMs and MTRs. I will say that my kevlar MT/Rs have the same qualities.

The new tread design is certainly not just for looks. If you wanna blame a tire for that, look at Thornbirds, or Richard Cepek crushers. LOL!

my brother had them on his rubi, he did not like them in the snow or rain (he does not off road anymore)

so based off of my personal experience of being in it, i thought they were not as good imo. but each has their own opinion and he just decided to get the bfg all terrains after, no more aggressive tread
