Per :google:, it's because CJ's have leaf spring front suspension.

And the PO drives a YJ, which has leafs.

I stated earlier that leaf sprung vehicles don't need track bars while coil sprung do.
But these guys decided to argue with me when I own a YJ!

If deathwobble is caused by a loose track bar, then my whole darn axle should have sheared off the front by now, becuase my trackbar has been gone for 2-3 months.

there was no arguement. and you've owned a yj as long as ive owned my last pair of shoes.
death wobble is caused by a trackbar issue.
his screwed up vibration issue is probably caused by a dead ball joint.
we assume your wrong because you assume your right and history does not lie.

Just because I've only owned for 5 months doesn't mean I don't know anything about it.
Its called research.

And death wobble, atleast for YJs, is not caused by track bar issues.
I got a idea for you. How about you go into the YJ section of jeepforum and ask them what could cause the problem. They'll tell ya.

"death wobble" happens on all types of vehicles with and without track bars. There are many contributions to death wobble including, but not limited to, the track bar.

Here is a good reference that is jeep oriented on the subject as well.

I've only owned Jeeps for four years or so, I'm not an expert but I have learned a lot over the years.

I was about to say that you can't get death wobble in a vehicle with leaf springs when I remembered what death wobble is. I think it also goes by the title bumpsteer and I think you can experience both in a YJ.

Basically if the wobble begins after you hit a bump then you likely have some steering linkage issues.

Regardless of your suspension, leaf or coil, your drag link (item 1) should be parallel to tie-rod (item 3) when the vehicle is sitting on the ground.
hiram how much lift does your YJ have and did you install a longer pitman arm?

I have a 4' Rubicon Express lift on my YJ with 33" tall tires and I've installed a longer pitman arm from a Cherokee. I don't get any death wobble or bumpsteer however the steering is a bit sloppy. That's because of the puny stock power steering box. It needs additional bracing or the complete replacement with a beefier one from a Durango.

if i did that i would be coming back with 15 people telling me you know nothing. just because a few people say something doesnt mean its true. no matter what, i wouldnt trust anything you come up with. there are plenty of people bringing up LINKS AND DIAGRAMS proving why your wrong. yet your hear say reason is supposed to be right because YOU of all people think its right? how many forums have you been banned from exactly? come on dude
