We getting a gastank skid since the stock one is a little mashed. it comes down to Warn or Kilby--is one better than the other?

also, we're replacing the steel cable on our winch with synthetic--is any brand better than the other? i found AmSteel for about $170 but was quoted $220 for another brand (but the other brand did come in colors...).

lastly, diff guards/rock rings--any style or brand better?

this will all be going on our TJ.

Kilbys skids are some of the best.
Don't know for sure on winch lines but have heard Amsteel is Ok.
If you want the best diff cover/skid, get the Crane covers.

i ordered the kilby this afternoon. i think i'm going to get the diff rings like clint has. i talked to heather and she has the cranes on her TJ but that might be a little overkill for us. do you think one diff is more important to cover than the other? like maybe the rear since if i lose that one i lose the ability to drive?

You dont loose the ability to drive, the front can pull you just fine.

It is more common to pull off the rear cover on an obstacle than the front and most front diff covers are pretty stout and will take quite a hit before being compromised. If I had to chose one, I would do the rear cover guard.

ordered the rear rock ring today too. found out that i have a dana 35. learn something new every day. if it turns out that i don't need the new gas tank i'll order a front ring too. then the synthetic line and then some new shocks, and then.......it never ends!

I need some stuff. Or I want some stuff. Want / Need. stuff. It's all so confusing.
