We getting a gastank skid since the stock one is a little mashed. it comes down to Warn or Kilby--is one better than the other? also, we're replacing the steel cable on our winch with synthetic--is any brand better than the other? i found AmSteel for about $170 but was quoted $220 for another brand (but the other brand did come in colors...). lastly, diff guards/rock rings--any style or brand better? this will all be going on our TJ. |

Kilbys skids are some of the best. Don't know for sure on winch lines but have heard Amsteel is Ok. If you want the best diff cover/skid, get the Crane covers. |

i ordered the kilby this afternoon. i think i'm going to get the diff rings like clint has. i talked to heather and she has the cranes on her TJ but that might be a little overkill for us. do you think one diff is more important to cover than the other? like maybe the rear since if i lose that one i lose the ability to drive? |

You dont loose the ability to drive, the front can pull you just fine. |

It is more common to pull off the rear cover on an obstacle than the front and most front diff covers are pretty stout and will take quite a hit before being compromised. If I had to chose one, I would do the rear cover guard. |

ordered the rear rock ring today too. found out that i have a dana 35. learn something new every day. if it turns out that i don't need the new gas tank i'll order a front ring too. then the synthetic line and then some new shocks, and then.......it never ends! |
