I bought a complete running 77 f150. Is it ok to cut off the wedges on this axle to install leafspring perches.

its always best to find the axles with no wedges cause they are a pain to cut off sometimes. The wedges are hollow so.

Yes as the HP44 in that truck will have weld on wedges. Not a easy job but take your time.

It's the '78-'79 1/2 ton HP44's that have the cast wedges that can not be cut off.Should have found a '78-'79 F250 then you'd have a HP44 with leaf pads already on it.
