I bought a complete running 77 f150. Is it ok to cut off the wedges on this axle to install leafspring perches. |

its always best to find the axles with no wedges cause they are a pain to cut off sometimes. The wedges are hollow so. |

Yes as the HP44 in that truck will have weld on wedges.Not a easy job but take your time. It's the '78-'79 1/2 ton HP44's that have the cast wedges that can not be cut off.Should have found a '78-'79 F250 then you'd have a HP44 with leaf pads already on it. http://77cj.littlekeylime.com/Dana44_2.htm |
