Post subject: | Rubicon Soft Top Troubles |
So as you all know, I bought a Rubicon used back in January. It was advertised to include a soft top and hard top, the hard top obviously being the one on the vehicle. The soft top was in its storage gear in the back of the jeep. Since it was cold here up until recently, I only opened up the soft top storage bags today. I know, stupid me, I should have checked it upon delivery. In any case, it is missing both side windows, the rear window and the door surrounds. Basically at this point it is a bikini top. Do I have a leg to stand on asking the Acura Dealership I bought it from to buy me a new top? |

I think it's worth a shot. The dealer might not be aware of the condition of the soft top, and if they are you should be able to tell during your discussion with them. If they represented the vehicle as including a soft top, they are implying a complete soft top, unless otherwise stated. Good luck, keep us posted! James |

Check on ebay, you might find some pretty cheap. But if you paid for two tops the dealer owe's you the rest of your soft top or a refund. Dual tops is a $1400 option on Jeeps. |

I would try the dealership....if they have any customer service, they will look after you.....if that doesn't work tell them you are writing to the editor of the local paper and tell he that they are crocks. If all else fails buy one at www.rubiconownersforum.com. I just bought my rubi rims there. Good luck!!!! |

Agreed, you at least have to try the dealer to see if they are going to make it right. If the box was unopened until now (and a new factory sealed box) you could also try DC to see what they have to say... |

Nope, it was not unopened. It had definitely been used a couple times by the previous owner. |

Also maybe mention that you may right a letter to the BBB. That's usually good if they are refusing to help you at all. |

UPDATE: The dealership couldn't have been nicer. I called and spoke to the used car manager, and didn't have to ask twice. He has a set of door surrounds in the shop and is gonna order me new windows from Quadratec. He couldn't have been more pleasant. Thanks for all your encouragement! |

I'm glad it turned out ok.....................A friend of mine bought a used car a few years back and about a month later got a flat. When he lifted up the trunk bed to get the spare there was nothing there. Should have been a donut and a jack. He went back to the dealer and they were nice about it and got him a donut and jack...............I guess you really have to check everything. |

If they treated you well enough you canstill write a letter to the BBB to say how nice they were in fixing your problem. |

Excellent... Not too often you see that type of service. Kudos to that dealership! |
