I suggest that you look into stretching it... a little longer wheelbase does wonders in those...

You can also put a rotary engine 13B fuel injected in the engine bay. They have the kits available.

Kewl RIgs!

Now that right there is a good use of $400. I can't wait to see where you take it!

Is that a removeable hardtop?

Looks like it is not removable, makes it even more rare, I had a softop 93 zuk, man I wish i still had it. I do prefer the hardtop though, especially for winter time. Definantly check out www.rocky-road.com they have lots of good stuff for the suzuki's.

Now as far as the engine swap. TDI all the way.

this is when i just got it home

You will probably appreciate the soft top when it comes time for a roll cage anyhow 8)

Looks like some new tires and a SPOA are the first on the plate? Oh and you have got to have some armor too. OH and better get that transfer case regeared too

I hope you are on santa's "good" list this year!

Good call ZukiSamisYo. To heck with "rare," I would have picked the yellow convertible too. And it looks like you, and your crew, are already having fun with it. I can't wait to hear what you get for Christmas!

the crew happens to be my younger siblings :)

my plans are to have the Sammi SPOA, on some beefier rubbers, and bodywork(rust issues) & maybe even painted before next summer.

im actually in the process of cleaning/repainting/restoring most of the interior and small exterior parts a flat black color to sort of "spice up" or "restore" them, its a bit cold out to be wrenching hours on end :(

We've built a couple of samis (altime favorite offroad vehicle) and they're super easy to work on. Plus when you roll it, two people can flip it back over lol. Believe me... i know. Two of the best things that you could ever invest in for your samurai are different backspaced wheels to widen the stance, and if you can find one... Swap out the 1.3 for a 1.6 geo tracker/ Suzuki sidekick engine. It's the "big block" for a sami lol. When i go home to texas on leave i'll try to find some of my old pictures and post them up for you. either that or i'll take some new ones. We still have a 90 JX with efi that has a 5" spoa and 31" maxxis buckshots on it.

got some used 31s on backspaced rims for 100 bucks.
Image

stripped the truck down, doors off, tailgate off, hinges being cleaned/repainted then new bolts for easy remove, took off the bumpers, cut off the ends of the crossmember, sway bar is comming off soon, and then ill be looking for aftermarket bumpers

in the market for a good SPOA kit which will be comming in the next few weeks

got some brand new YJ mirrors, brand new full soft top, got a spare tire carrier and a spare, brand new D-cell maglight for the trails

heres what the truck looks like now (except i cut the crossmember ends off after) ..

Sami's are the best. They also have a really good aftermarket.

I like the long base samurais... hard to find though. Your samurais look real good.

The long based samurai definitely suits my type. I love to have a long ride and more spaces for my belongings.

They sold LWB samurais in Canada 1985 thru 1988. If you can find on up there 1985 or 1986 it can now be imported legally and inexpensively. Once a vehicle is 25 or more years old its easy.
