I guess I really should have started a new thread for it, since it isnt the gladiator.
My post from here:

If you look at AEV, you'll see that this vehicle is built under the name "Brute".

if you're suggesting that the story's wrong, then look again. They look similar, but are definitely different. If you weren't suggesting that, apologies....either way that thing looks awesome

I'm sorry, I didn't read through the whole story. I just looked at the pictures and jumped to a conclusion.

Well it is possible that a new Jeep pickup concept is in development, but at least the first picture is the AEV Brute. You can tell simply by looking at the wheels. Also, I'm fairly certain that the Brute features the option of the V8.

Yeah. I'm a little confused. It is most definitely the Brute, but the camo is not something a small modifier such as AEV would use. Possibly, Jeep was considering buying that design from them. I'd say that idea is dead (at least in that configuration). I can't see them using the TJ platform for a new vehicle with the JK out now.

I think what makes them not a Brute is the added roof vent windows or "safari" windows as they were called in the article...been a while since I've seen a pic of an actual Brute but i don't believe they have those...

Also notice the location of the gas filler...

It's an AEV project. I saw another article about it on allpar I believe. It's been updated with a new roof and the Highline fender kit, as well as a rear winch and wider tailgate I think.
