Here is my newest project that I really didn't need :) It's a 1968 Jeep/Kaiser M715 with a 390 Ford V8. It's all original(except the engine) has no rust, and everything works on it. It's really pretty clean. I fell in love with this truck when I found it, and had to have it. Heather said to sell something and you can buy it! So I sold an old GMC statebed truck that I wasn't driving and bought this! And I came out $200 ahead :)

My plans for it are taking to the local car shows, using it in local parades in Big Bear, and driving around town, and hauling band equipment when I play gigs in Big Bear. I'll also use the PTO winch when I volunteer with the forest service on adopt-a-trail work. I'm going to keep it mostly original, with a few aditions:
1. Power steering and brakes!
2. A custom aluminum fairlead and a custom 7/16" Winchline (Thor from Viking is making these for me)
3. Detroit locker for the rear Dana 70
4. Paint it back to Olive Drab with the big white stars(already started painting)

Lots of fun!!! I'm looking forward to being the keeper of this beast!

Sounds like you have the right idea. Keep that baby mostly original, but update its functionality. Man that is sweet.

If you ever drift over to www.ifsja.org or maybe the m715zone.com , I think you will find a guy who sells a hydroboost brake set up for that for a decent price. Might be a good way to go if you are adding P/S, too.

I Love the M715. I almost bought one a few months ago on ebay, but in the final minutes I lost my internet connection!

Yea, the mileage isn't suprising. Most of those military trucks have pretty low mileage from what i've seen. But it is very clean, the only thing, in the last pic of the bed, well it looks like there is no bed, or floor, to goes straight through to the ground. or is it just filled with leaves?
