Here is our tow truck. Little old Samson does a great job hauling around Jeeps and race cars.. 7.3 Turbo Diesel, 6 speed manual tranny, sitting on 295 X 75 X 16s and it is even 4 wheel drive. Man this thing gets better mileage then any rig we own. later...Clint

Hey Clint-

I sure hope you checked out that Ford SD thoroughly before you bought it. There's a lot of folks out there selling used trucks that can't be trusted any further than you can throw them. I believe "unscrupulous" would be the term to describe some of them. Also, I hope you didn't buy it from a cowboy. Those guys are tougher on trucks than you would believe possible. If you need a hand draining the sawdust/oil out of the trans, give me a holler.

I just hate to see a friend get taken to the cleaners on a used truck deal.

See ya later.

Man it cracks me up (in a sad kind of jealous way) that the big ol Ford gets the best mileage. Shouldn't make too much of a difference to you though since you don't do much more than run to the mall and back.

My dad has that exact same color crew cab longbed. an 01..bought it at the end of 00' going on 6 years and hasn't had one problem with his diesel. I LOVE those trucks...long bed crew cab is all i want....he gets an average of 20+ mpg on the highway. 40,000 miles total on the odometer. Not bad compared to the highway haulers in that same year up for sale now.

like clint said....stupid ford

Hey that's my next (probably) vehicle purchase. I'm shopping the crew and club cab 4X4 F250s and F350s now. Great motor that Powerstroke. Cool that you found a manual tranny! I've heard the Ford 6-speed has pretty good ratios. How do you like them?
