Whats up guys, n00b to this site/forum... I was thinkin about starting a project with Myke for sometime around the spring to work on a (pair maybe?) Suzuki Samurai or perhaps a Suzuki Sidekick and build it up for offroading. Ive heard about the site before and the new section gave me a little more insentive to join seeing as how i dont own a Jeep |

Try a google search, there are some decent Sami sites out there where you might find more focused info. |

I've read that the samurai are underpowered even at their weight. The can use some available low gearing to over come it though...getting crawl ratio's in the 100:1 range. I was told they build alot of heat from the transmission tunnel and the hard tops really trap it so the convertable is nice. 31" tires seem to be the norm (looking like a jeep w/35"s on it). There are kits to swap the geo tracker /sidekick motor or better yet a volkswagon diesel I'd love to have one personally...they look like a blast to mod. http://www.off-road.com/suzuki/samurai/samtips.htm http://www.izook.com/ |

Here's my one and only experience. He flipped, 4 guys picked it back up, he retook the obstacle and made it. Try that with a KJ. I'd poop my pants if I fliped hehehe.

as a wise man (Alan Jackson I believe?) once said: "too much fun? what's that mean? it's like too much money, there's no such thing It's like a girl too pretty with too much class being too lucky or a car too fast No matter what they say I've done, I ain't never had too much fun!" |

If you visit the Calmini Website you will find all sorts of mods for the Zuk's. http://www.calmini.com/ Another great place to find info is Gadzuks of Southern California. These guys know how to wheel these gems from mild to wild. http://www.gad-zuks.com/ Brian |

Sorry i didn't see this earlier lol I've got a couple of Samis... the absolute best website for the zuki is http://www.rocky-road.com I've got a 91 samurai with a JP eater lift kit from rocky-road. Running 33" swampers and a 6:1 trans case with 5.29's. It's a beast. I am a firm believer in a fixed up samurai beeing the most capable Non rock buggy 4x4 out there lol. Just look at the things that eddie casaneuva from spidertrax does with his. For suzuki parts go to these sites. www.rocky-road.com www.calmini.com www.wheelersoffroad.com www.spidertrax.com www.puresuzuki.com For good info and info of suzuki trail rides go to www.izook.com |
