Hi all, sold both my Jeeps to get a VW Touareg V10 TDI. 5.0 liter / 313bhp / 750 Nm torque :JEEPIN:
Hope it will be as reliable as the KJ was.

First mod will be....mat black decals from pixel

Image

Then I'll probably swap the grill for a black one with no logo, but it will have to wait, I'm all tapped out after this purchase. :juggle:

Will post some better pics asap, but here is something to feast your eyes on:

Hi Tony

Very Nice looking VW Touareg V10 TDI !! you must keep us posted on all the Mod's you are going to do.

Tony, you have some ugly plastic hiding your engine.

Wtf....the V10 5.0ltr (305) uses LESS fuel then my 2.5 (152) four banger Liberty CRD? This is 28 MPG while my Jeep did tops 23 MPG ...

We followed a Toureg club on some Moab trails a couple years ago. They do fairly well until they run out of ground clearance. They have some sort of auto 4x4 system like a Range Rover that seems to work pretty good. Thinkin' you are going to like it.

Biggest problem with this car is that it has 18" or 19" or bigger (if you are into bling) rims/tires. It has a 4Lo, much like the select-trac on the Jeep. (Some have a lockable rear diff) Mine has air suspension which is outa this world, but it's not a rock crawler with IFS front and back. :|

Ok, so I tried it a little today, I have a test track close to my house so I thought what the heck, lets go.

Turn 2 buttons and it does this, adjust ride hight and 4lo:

Image

So up the little trail we go

Image

Image

Nothing to shocking, but furtherup it gets real rocky, so I put it on 'offroad extra hight'

Image

I think I can get some 31" M/T in there :-)r

Image

It did pretty good, but it's so big and you don't see anything, nothing like a Jeep...but then again, my KJ didn't do 150mph :jester:

Funny thing about the transfer case, in 4Lo it still does select-trac, I need to tell it to lock the centre diff if I need it.

That is my biggest worry about this rig....but I guess we'll see.

Parts for Jeep are ridiculously expensive over here and I managed to run the KJ for almost 10 years.. think I can handle the VW moneywise.

My 2.8 CRD KJ, with a manual, 6 speed box, averages 38mpg...And unlike a VW Touareg, it can actually go off road! :goink:
