Looking to go to the junkyard here before summer is over in search of some parts for both jeeps.. First question, I'm looking for a HP D30, maybe two, I have to get one out of a cherokee right? What year(s) do I need to look for in order to find one? and while I'm dicking with that said cherokee I can use its front driveshaft for an SYE rear driveshaft on a TJ right? I know it will need cut down to length and what not. Does the front driveshaft have to come out of an auto? 5 speed? doesn't matter? Do years matter for the front driveshaft? Thats it for my questions as of right now..Thanks for any help!

Year doesn't matter for the drive shaft, there pretty much all the same. Just make sure the double cardan is in good shape, and its not a cv. As for the axle, 90+ Cherokee without the disconnect. The disco axles are pure junk. They stopped using the HP in later years, I'm not sure when the change started. Look for a 4cyl Jeep, you might get lucky and find one with 4.10 gears, the rest will be 3:55, or a rare few 3:73 :JEEPIN:
