Tommudd, as long as you master the art of complaining about your back and knee's, you snore and huff and puff like the rest of us on the hills, your welcome to join us next year. We are going to do another section.

Why I remember back in the day.........:?: Lets see now, I think that was back in the 60's. No wonder I don't remember what it was back in the day!

I've done pieces of the AT in New Hampshire/Maine. I don't think I have the wherewithall to do a through-hike though.
Along the way, I have shuttled a few through-hikers into town, etc. It's an interesting lifestyle... especially seeing a through-hiker stop to pick up food laying on the trail (dropped by others) and eat it. I also have donated extra food from backpacks to through-hikers. No matter how yucky, those guys will seem to eat anything!

Looks like fun. I have used a tent just like that, hard to say if its the same one, very lightweight. My next trip is 3 weeks away, not AT though.

Two friends of mine did the entire AT trail. They started in North Georgia in April and ended in Maine in October. It took them approximately 6 months to do it. I would like to hike a good portion of the trail at some point in my life, but I don’t know if that will ever happen. We do a lot of hiking here in New Mexico and Colorado. We are working to become debt free so we can do more things like that.

Loved it, was hoping to go back this last spring, but it didn't work out. Maybe next year.
