I'm considering upgrading from my Pelican 100DLX to a Castaway 116. Just wondering if anyone here has any experience with them? I know, I could join a kayaking forum, but I like this place. :) I've seen some good reviews on line and some bad reviews. Mostly good.

I don't have an answer! I just bought a pelican 100,new for 199.00.Took it out Friday in my friends small lake/pond.Had to break ice first. But had lots of fun.I live in a sub and have lake access,I have not been on the water in 20+ years I want to change that this year.
I thought I was the only one crazy enough to do this then i talked to a guy who took his kayak out Monday(last) on Lake Cadillac.

Just picked up another Pelican 100 for my wife tonight. They are very nice for the price. I'm pretty happy with mine as far as going down the river. Just want to upgrade for more room for fishing. You mentioned Lake Cadillac. Where you located?

Today,I went out again in my friends pond/lake. It was cold 34, but sunny and no ICE. I think I'll try the real lake next week Thursday or Friday suppose to be near 70.

Yep, my wife and I were just talking about getting on the water next weekend since it is supposed to be so warm. I'm stoked!

New kayak is an Old Town OtterXL 9'6" it fits inside the KK with front seat down.

I'm going out to load our kayaks in just a few minutes. My wife, her sister and I are going down the Little Muskegon River. Good times...

I know but I only have a cell phone to take picture and it can't get wet. I found out that Kodak makes water proof disposable, need to find one now.But the Mid West Michigan Kayak Club was on the Boardman the same day videoing the river run.I might have the Club name wrong but they said Grand Rapids MI, was where most were from.
I went out on my friends pond, fishing caught & released 2 perch then went out for fish dinner.
Hoping the rain stays away want to do something...........

Nice pics………….. 8) Nice color! 8)

We're looking at a few kayak’s….but, we aren’t exactly sure what we want yet. Lots of different types of boats out there.
